GetWellNetworks launches GetConnected 2008
Industry Leaders from Hospitals Across the Country Gather to Discuss Interactive Patient Care Topics and Share Best Practices for Improving the Patient Experience
April 7, 2008 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - GetWellNetwork, Inc., a leading provider of Interactive Patient Care (IPC) solutions, today announced the kick-off of GetConnected2008. Designed exclusively for the GetWellNetwork community, GetConnected2008 is the industry's first annual conference focused on IPC technology and improving the patient experience. More than 100 participants throughout the GetWellNetwork community are attending the two-day conference being held at the Hilton Washington Embassy Row, Washington, D.C.
Attendees have the opportunity to share best practices and lessons learned, discuss the latest trends and issues in Interactive Patient Care, learn new strategies through hands-on workshops and network with colleagues in the industry. The conference features more than 25 client- and GetWellNetwork-led sessions on topics such as patient education and safety initiatives, patient satisfaction and service excellence strategies, and success planning and outcomes measurement. The keynote presentations are by Fawn Lopez, publisher and vice president of Modern Healthcare and Modern Physician; John Babiarz, group president of ARAMARK Healthcare; and Michael O'Neil, Jr., founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork, Inc.
"The GetWellNetwork solution has made a tremendous impact on patient satisfaction and patient care at Children's National Medical Center. We look forward to sharing our experiences and results with other industry leaders, as well as gaining new insight on IPC and innovative ways to leverage the technology to engage patients and their families," said Linda Talley, director of nursing systems and neonatal services at Children's National Medical Center. "This conference is a valuable learning opportunity that will allow us to go back with a renewed perspective on how we can maximize the GetWellNetwork system to further improve the experience for our patients and families."
Recently featured in the New York Times and widely acknowledged as the leading IPC solution, the GetWellNetwork® PatientLife SystemŽ empowers patients and families by placing them at the center of their own care experience. The system turns the television in the patient room into an interactive resource during a hospital stay. By using a wireless keyboard, touch screen or handheld device, patients can interact with the system to access valuable education, communication and entertainment resources directly at the bedside. The PatientLife System enables hospitals to improve the patient experience while improving the cost, quality and service of care delivery.
"As the GetWellNetwork community continues to grow and the need to improve the patient experience emerges as a central issue, GetConnected2008 is a powerful opportunity for our client hospitals to get together and share experiences, learn from one another and cultivate new relationships," said Michael O'Neil, Jr., founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork, Inc. "We are excited to kick off the event and look forward to working together to advance our efforts in making a difference in the lives of patients and their families."
